Portable AC hire
Portable Air Conditioner Hire
Plug in. Vent. Cool down.
ChillDash hires 12,000–14,000 BTU professional-grade portable units, delivered with the window venting kit and everything you need to run them.

How a portable air conditioner works
The unit draws warm room air across a cold coil, removes heat and moisture, and pushes the heat outside through an exhaust hose. Cool, drier air goes back into the room.
Because the heat has to leave the room, the hose must reach outside — normally through a window using the kit supplied. A unit venting into the same room will not cool it.
Choosing the right capacity
Cooling capacity is quoted in BTU per hour. Room volume is the starting point, but glazing, sunlight, insulation, floor level and equipment heat all raise the load.
Our hire fleet sits in the 12,000–14,000 BTU range, which covers most bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, treatment rooms and small commercial spaces. Large open-plan areas usually cool better with more than one unit.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Do portable air conditioners need a drain?
Modern units evaporate most condensate through the exhaust. In very humid conditions a reservoir may need emptying occasionally — instructions come with the unit.
Can the hose go through a door instead of a window?
Yes, as long as the remaining gap is sealed so warm outside air isn't drawn back in. Keep the hose as short and straight as practical.
How heavy are the units?
Professional-grade portables are heavy but are on castors, so they roll easily on hard floors once positioned. We deliver and collect, so you don't need to lift one into a car.
